Customization – Adding Comments To Pages

Enable Page Comments

Make sure that you check the Allow Comments” option located below the post editor in WordPress.

Add Comment Support

Next, add the comment link and the comment form to the page template. This is done by loading up page.php in the Theme editor within WordPress and adding the following lines:

That’s it! You should have comment support available on all of your pages. Remember that if you want to allow comments on specific pages only, then take advantage of the “Allow Comments” option as outlined above.

  1. The comment “reply” javascript doesn’t seem to work on pages. At least, not on my blog.

    How can I fix this?

On a page, when I click “reply” to reply to a comment, the page reloads and dumps me back down to the bottom of the comment section. It doesn’t create a little window beneath the comment I am replying to the way it does in the posts.

    • Shoot this over to us in the forums and we’ll take care of it there. This post is almost two years old so a lot of the content is dated.
