A Valentine’s Day Gift For You

Do you own a Support License? You do? Well, then you already know that you are the object of our affection!

We luffs you.

And it is because of this deep and double rainbow colored luff that we’ve been on a quest. We searched the Internet far and wide for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for you.

But what could possibly symbolize the size and scope of our luff? Flowers? Exotic canned meats? A really, really amazing stick?

Nay.

We knew these cliche and mundane trinkets would never do. We wanted to give you something special. Something to set you apart from all the other primates and/or marsupials floating out there in the nether-regions of cyberspace.

We wanted a beautiful gift for a beautiful you.

STANDARD 3 PREVIEW IS AVAILABLE NOW!

Betcha didn’t see that one coming. We have released the Standard 3 Preview exclusively to the Support Community.

Remember, it’s not a beta! This is a sneaky-peaky preview. You should think of it like a functional trial with limited features. Meanwhile, we’ll be thinking of it like free extended testing of the core theme code :-) .

Truth be told, it may be too soon for us to do this but we couldn’t contain our excitement any longer. One of the primary things holding us back from releasing the preview was we didn’t want to give you something too early, and then pull the proverbial carpet out from under you if we need to make a big change to the codebase. We’d hate for you to build a sweet site on top of our preview, only to find out later that upgrading to the real thing is a pain (or even downright impossible). Worse, we’d hate for a big ol’ bug to do catastrophic damage to your SEO or credibility with your readership.

Which brings me to my next point. All of these things are possible.

Who Should Use The Standard 3 Preview?

Here is a list of folks we consider a perfect fit for using the preview:

  • Designers & developers who have their own development sandbox with non-critical test data.
  • WordPress power users with an excellent backup and recovery system in place and an adventurous spirit.
  • Standard Theme customers with low-traffic personal sites filled with disposable content and time on their hands.
  • Any of the above who are also exceptionally tolerant to having the proverbial carpet yanked out from underneath them.

If you are a support customer, and you fit into one of those profiles, AND you want to make Standard 3 better by helping us test our theme, you are a perfect fit! If you are new to WordPress, or if you have any reservations whatsoever, please do not download the theme.

In Case I Haven’t Been Clear

Use the Standard 3 Preview at your own risk. There are no warranties or guarantees, period. We will not answer support questions (though you are encouraged to answer each others). We will not be quick to release fixes or patches. This version of Standard may or may not be compatible with future versions.

Releasing this code is a courtesy to you and a benefit to us, but we will not let it distract us from the task at hand, which is finishing the actual product for release.

One Last Thing

On behalf of John, Tom, Jared, Michael, and me… Happy Valentine’s Day! Now, what are you waiting for? This theme isn’t going to preview itself!
